Interesting exchange that DeMar had in that article from the person who disagreed with him. There comes a point where "the grid" of one's belief has to be maintained and it essentially becomes a form of "theology worship" rather than letting the facts redefine the grid. The problem with that form of rigidity is that you wind up running the risk of making assumptions and conclusions that are odd, or weird, all in the name of keeping your belief system alive.

So a literalist said that something couldn't be taken literally.

In the article The Scofield Reference Bible is First Printed to Advance the Zionist Deception (https://historyheist.com/the-scofield-r ... ception/2/ - and I'm linking to the second page of the article) the author talks about how "seed" is to be understood, or that the promise is made to one person rather than an entire nation. Scofield apparently says that it's a plural of people, thus being a promise to all Israelites, and that's where the point of the issue starts. The promises made to Abraham are to him, not to a group of people. The promise to be a blessing is to him and his "seed", singular. To tie back the land, mentioned later, retroactive to the first promise in Genesis 12 seems to be an imposition by Scofield of the true nature of the promises.
